Differences of jUpgrade & jUpgradePRO
jUpgrade must to be installed on Joomla 1.5. It will install, configure and migrate a new Joomla 2.5 version. jUpgrade only has a database migration method which is not an easy to use for beginners.
jUpgradePRO must to be installed on Joomla 2.5 or Joomla 3.0 directly (without sample data, this is very important!). It has 2 methods, database (same as jUpgrade) and RESTful.
RESTful method is a web service way to migrate data. You do not have to provide database connection info, with only the URL, username and password you can migrate the data. You must install and enable a plugin on the old site (Joomla 1.5). The plugin will 'serve' the info to the component installed on Joomla 2.5/3.0 read and migrate. This is easy to use for beginners since you don't need to fight with database data.
