Hey everyone, so sorry to be posting yet another issue due to installations  but i really have searched nearly 5 hours trying to find a solution to this. I have tried every suggestion, aside from doing a separate fresh install of 2.5 and then manually copying over all my data...which would defeat the purpose of this component.

I noticed in few cases that one of the Mods would actually login to the sites and do the installs for them. Could i be one of those people?!?

I am not the quitting type, but man i just cannot get this to work! I've gotten it to work on other sites just fine, but this one is perplexing to no end.

I'd be happy to message any mods with a login.

Im on Joomla 1.5.26 and i am wanting to upgrade to 2.5.

Thanks in advance,

Oops, I posted this under a different forum...sorry. Just found this topic and wanted to post it here....

I am also getting stuck at Migrating undefined. I double-checked ALL of the requirements of both Joomla 2.5 and jUpgrade and confirmed them with my host.

While it was stuck, however, I typed in mywebsite/jupgrade out of curiosity and was redirected to mywebsite/jupgrade/installation/index.php with the installation screen for Joomla! 2.5.4.

I am wondering if jUpgrade is unable to get the user/password/database names from my server.

On a second attempt, I took the advice of someone earlier on the forum who recommended changing the mySQLi reference to mySQL before installing the component. Didn't work.

On a third attempt, I downloaded Joomla 2.5.4 and extracted it in my jupgrade folder and skipped download and decompressed. Still no luck. Maybe I did this wrong? Should it be extracted in a tmp folder?

Anyone got any ideas?

Yeah...i tried all the same things you tried. Someone has just posted a related security issue with this latest version about an hour ago. I think the Mods really need to answer this question ASAP.

Please!!! :cheer:

Re: The Dreaded Migrating Undefined!! 11 months 1 week ago #129880

I just had a similar experience with "The Dreaded Migrating Undefined"... I was using jUpgrade 2.5.1 and here's what I did to resolve the problem (based primarily on spotting this thread). Uninstalled jUpgrade 2.5.1 and then installed jUpgrade 2.5.0 (fortunately I had an older version kicking around). Initially this didn't work and the jUpgrade got stuck at the very first step "checking"... so I uninstalled again, deleted the jUpgrade folder (using FTP) and tried to reinstall and upgrade again... no problems this time.

Can't guarantee this will work for you but hopefully it will.

I've attached the 2.5.0 file in case anyone should need it.

Attachment com_jupgrade-2.5.0.zip not found

Now to reconfigure the rest of my site... happy fiddling.

Ok i guess my joomla 1.5.6 installation must be hosed as far as upgrading to 2.5.
Thanks Rikki for the file, but it didn't work either!

It would be super sweet if a mod or dev could help with this.

Apparently, the unpaid users are on the short end of the stick here. All the fixes others are experiencing are from other users. Which isn't a bad thing, but when a problem becomes Critical Mass, my opinion is that the professionals need to step in.

I haven't seen a post by the mods or devs in like a week in the jupgrade forum.

Frustrated!

Heres what worked for me.

I uninstalled jUpgrade 2.5.1 and installed jUpgrade 2.5.0 in Joomla 1.5.26.

I removed all files in the /jupgrade and /tmp folders, then extracted Joomla 2.5.4 in the /jupgrade folder.

I also added a blank writable "configuration.php" file in the /jupgrade folder and then set the jUpgrade Parameters for "skip Download" and Skip Decompress" to "yes" in jUpgrade and then jUpgrade worked successfully.

I then upgraded Joomla 2.5.4 to Joomla 2.5.6 via FTP.

Hi guys,

I am also stuck. I keep getting:

Fatal error: class 'jConfig" not found in my/path/here/jupgrade.classphp on line 130

Over and over again as the program runs. :O/

Hi Brian Fischer,

Re: configuration.php file, just create a blank configuration.php file with nothing in this file and upload this to the /jupgrade folder and make sure this configuration.php file is writeable, e.g. 777, you should change the permissions on this file to 644 before you go live.

Hope this helps.

Dion.

Thanks so much Dion! actually got it to work without having to do. Noticed that when I created the jupgrade directory I did it wrong. Still very appreciative!

Re: The Dreaded Migrating Undefined!! 10 months 2 weeks ago #130396

I can confirm after a lot of messing around, this solutions worked for me:

I uninstalled jUpgrade 2.5.1 (which wasn't so easy, pile of locked folder that required a server restart) and installed jUpgrade 2.5.0 in Joomla 1.5.26.

I removed all files in the /jupgrade folder, then extracted Joomla 2.5.4 in the /jupgrade folder.

I didn't need to do the blank writable "configuration.php" file in the /jupgrade folder and then set the jUpgrade Parameters for "skip Download" and Skip Decompress" to "yes" in jUpgrade and then jUpgrade worked successfully.

I then upgraded Joomla 2.5.4 to Joomla 2.5.6.

This was done one a IIS server, not sure if that makes any difference, but it appears to be a problem with JUpgrade 2.5.1 causing most of the problems.

Any hints where I could find the 2.5.0 version of jUpgrade? On the downloads section of this site, all I can find is 2.5.1. I'm having the exact same problem as you on Joomla 1.5.26, but on Apache on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I'd at least like to try your method.
