Mootools issues
Try enabling the Mootools update plugin that is available in Joomla 1.5.19 and greater
If you have any problem clicking in the "jUpgrade Start Button" maybe you need to reinstall your Mootools upgrade and enable it. Here the URL:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-en...ements/scripts/14643
406: cURL not loaded
You need to install cURL in your web server. Some links:

Set debug mode = ON
jUpgrade cannot download Joomla 1.6/1.7 package
When the download fails (timeouts, javascript issues, etc) you can download it manually here:
Joomla 1.6:
anonymous:@joomlacode.org/svn/joomla/dev...de/pack/joomla16.zip
Joomla 1.7:
anonymous:@joomlacode.org/svn/joomla/dev...de/pack/joomla17.zip
and put this file into your ROOT/tmp directory. Then in the preferences of jUpgrade, you must set 'Skip Download' to 'Yes'. After that, run the upgrade again.
Error decompressing
Download the file separately:
Joomla 1.6:
anonymous:@joomlacode.org/svn/joomla/dev...de/pack/joomla16.zip
Joomla 1.7:
anonymous:@joomlacode.org/svn/joomla/dev...de/pack/joomla17.zip
and unzip it and put it in ROOT / jupgrade directory. Put "yes" to skip download and "yes" to skip decompress.
jUpgrade stucks in "Checking ...Preparing for check"

Possible solution for some of you:
I got the upgrade past this point by BOTH enabling the Mootools Upgrade AND editing the Mootools Upgrade plugin in the administrator, setting it's "order" to "first".
This may help some of you with having extensions installed that possibly conflict with Mootools.
"Error 404: component not found" in frontend
Open Menu Manager, select a single article and click on the 'Home' icon at the top of the page.

Conflict between Admin Tools and jUpgrade
Why can't jUpgrade proceed past the installation step with Admin Tools installed?
If you are using the .htaccess maker feature of Admin Tools, then the added security may prevent jUpgrade from executing correctly.
To get past this, you can do one of two things:
1) Rename the current .htaccess file to .htaccess.live (suggested ONLY if running jUpgrade in a development environment such as localhost)
2) In Admin Tools, go to the .htaccess maker. Under the Server Protection area, locate the "Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories" text area in the Exceptions section, and add a line for 'administrator/components/com_jupgrade'
