I downloaded it from the free downloads..

Is that the same?

But where is com_redshop_1.1.9.2.tar.gz for Joomla 1.5? On Twitter yesterday you announced both versions.

The files for J1.5 for the 12 month and 12 month Pro subscription areas is beeing uploaded currently - the rest is all there and also for 1.7 - and the free component is the same as the main component so you can just get it there untill the upload is done.

And I'm sure if I asked the client he'd extend that list.

You seem to be using the Microsoft method of testing: Release it, bugs and all, and let the users find the issues.

If I was in your position I'd be looking for new developers.

I was waiting for your shop component for 1.7 to test on a new site i am building. Now I try to download but can only find dowloads with paid subscription plans... I do not have one (yet).

Maybe I am not fully awake yet, but in the downloads overview I see the component can be downloaded without subscription plan (Free)...

Where can I find it? I will be happy to subscribe once I had the chance to test and establish that it is the right component for me, but would like to try first...

Okay, downloaded the .zip but getting installation error: 'cant find install package' (I don't know if that is the correct prase in English, I use Dutch)

All works just fine and is running on many many sites problem free.

You may have some ideas on how things should work or have some special needs or have found a way it dont work for you and there might be an issue here or there - but all 3 things work in generel.

You should know what a release often strategy means - if you dont like it dont download it and stick to old versions.

Hans: It seems your host wasnt or isnt able to install it directly - what you might need to do is upload to the tmp folder on your server and unzip it to a subfolder and then install from that folder in your joomla installer - that should do the trick.

They don't work. That's my first point. My second point is even simpler...

My client wants a shop that works. And by that he means buying, quoting and invoicing.

Instead of making smug remarks it might be an idea to actually look into the issues my client has raised.

Okay, I am familiar with that. I run and configure my own server at the backbone at Schiphol Amsterdam and install many components etc. on many sites per month, so that cannot be it... my server can do that.

But I did it the /tmp folder way, and it installed, I was just a bit lazy...

Now I am gonna test.

Michael: We have an ocean of clients using invoicing, qoutation and search facility (redPRODUCTFINDER) and have no problems with it.

If there is threads with reported bugs that hasnt gone through then do bump them and ask for an updated status (and no we dont need no cheeky comments).

If any of these had been handled by Sajal notice he hasnt working with us any longer and some things got lost in the proces of him stopping.

Hans: We run 2 hosting companies and i started my first hosting company in 1998.

The problems you experience is typically due to to little execution time on scripts or limited memory limit.

redSHOP is the biggest component on the planet and requires quite a bit of both to install - so 16 or 32mb ram and a 30 second timeout as quite a few host operate on as default is not enough.

Thanks for a great component! But once again I would like to ask where I find a description of the different modules & plugins? Sean made a post once describing some of them, but I see a lot of new ones here. Could I find a description of each one? (logic place would be the Detail button on each module/plugin)

Also I would like to ask again - how do I find the tread to each bug or new feature in the new releases? Nothing shows up when I search...

Hi Michael,

We are in the process of rebuilding the entire redcomponent.com setup in terms of the webpage.

Now as for the individual tasks and descriptions for it - this will change some.

After the last release of the 1.1 series (which will be end of this week or maybe end of next week depending on the amount of issues found) we will be changing to monthly builds and 1.2 development series.

The slower release rate means we actually will get time to do more indept release notes amongst other things.
